MR Movies using Single Echo Acquisition Imaging

Single Echo Acquisition (SEA) imaging uses an array of coils to eliminate phase encoding.

As an example of the method,   we have built a simple rotating phantom consisting of a "Lego" cross which rotates inside a dish.

A small electric motor well outside the magnet controls the speed of the dish.

On the right is a conventional MR image of the dish.

On the right is a SEA image sequence.  Each frame is obtained in 8 milliseconds.  Note that there are no motion artifacts in this movie due to the short "aperture" of the SEA method.
