Requirements for Minor in Electrical Engineering


The courses listed below constitute the 18 hours required for a minor in Electrical Engineering
  1. ELEN 214 Electrical Cicuit Theory. Credit 4
  2. ELEN 248 Introduction to Digital Systems Design. Credit 4
  3. ELEN 314 Linear Circuit Analysis. Credit 3
  4. ELEN 325 Electronics. Credit 4
  5. ELEN XXX Any 300/400 level ELEN course except ELEN 405, 485. Credit 3

Prerequisites: ELEN 214 requires PHYS 208 or equivalent as a prerequisite and enrollment in MATH 308. MATH 308 requires completion of the calculus sequence.

Minimum GPR: A minimum grade point ratio of 2.75 is required in order to enter the minor. This is the same requirement as for students who are majoring in Electrical Engineering to enter the upper division of Electrical Engineering.

Satisfactory Completion of Courses: To be awarded the minor in Electrical Engineering, students must earn a C or better grade in each of the courses used for the minor.

Restrictions: Students majoring in Computer Engineering will not be permitted to minor in Electrical Engineering since the coursework prescribed for the minor is required coursework for the Computer Engineering degree.
